Kung-Fu Hustle

Just got back from the Camden Odeon.
Well, this movie had a very good start, very promising in terms of adult humour, 'choreography' and a bit of dark style. But it takes itself too seriously as it goes on, and loses that comic edge in favour of effects and stunts. Don't get me wrong the effects and stunts are good (even though the raytracing is obvious, check the butterfly's abdomen during the metamorphosis stage).
Still, worth seeing, if you want something more slick and better presented than Kung Pow. Nice idea with the deadly musicians, very good sound throughout the film, and look out for the reference to the Shining.
The Landlady carries the show.
