Debian Apus and X on A4k with CybervisionPPC
« on: December 31, 2003, 07:36:32 PM »
How ! ?

I can get all the way but cannot get a workable/usable X server.

Any ideas where/what to do now ?

DebianPPC 2.2r7 and tried Debian 3.0r2 and a mishmash of both and latest stable from ftp. But using 2.2r7 I get X using F68Dev but screen wont update itself properly....screwed graphics... and with later version of Xfree86 4.1.0 locks up like wrong monitor settings with duff X screen and escape only via Ctrl Alt F1 if it all. Tried using 2.2r7/3.0 Apus and Apus sites 2.2.10 and latest bootstrap and WarpUp files. I'm on my 8 install and getting worn down....need help......please.ta...

I don't want to be a killjoy, but why run Linux on your Amiga? Stick to AmigaOS. If you want to run Linux, do it on your PC. If you don't have a PC, why would you want to run Linux? :-)

I'm sorry, I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but I feel it's the correct answer anyway.
