Title: tank mouse sketchy
Post by: RetroNinja on December 08, 2022, 10:07:08 PM
Hello,

I just picked up an Amiga package. It's rocking one of those cherry switched red keyboards :) The sad part is the tank mouse. It kinda works. The pointer moves fine, it's not a mouse port fuse issue. It seems to take awhile to 'see' the button clicks (both left and right). Sometimes clicking is fine, most other times I need to hold it down for a bit, sometimes I just need to stop then come back to it for the button to work. I don't believe the issue is the switch - it's unlikely both switches are bad. For this mouse, it has a couple 47uF 6.3V capacitors inside. What's your opinion? Do you think recapping will solve the issue? And, yes I've plugged a different tank mouse in the A2000 and it works fine with no issues. So I feel safe saving this is not an A2000 issue.

I restored my A1200 mouse buttons by dribbling some isopropyl alcohol on the switches and repeatedly working them for a few minutes. Might work...
