Title: What kind of game would you like to see ?
Post by: rednova on July 29, 2016, 04:23:50 PM
Dear Amigans:

I am thinking about making a new amiga game.
My questions is:
What kind of game would you like to see ?
If you tell me, then I can try to make a new game,
a game people would like to play.

Alien bread 3d2 remake with real rtg support genetic species with more screen modes would be good too. Vampire will need some cool remakes to push it

Hi:

I use an 68000 amiga 2000.
An alien breed game would probably be impossible in my current system.
I cannot make a racer game, is beyond my abilities.
But  a game like tower defense, that is something I can do.
Long live amiga !!!!

Original is always better. Failing that how about a worm/snake type game? I like those.

How about a puzzle game like Logical. I loved that game, so chilled. Only Lemmings beats it due to the 2-player mode ;-)

Hi Rednova,

I'd love seeing a game similar to Deluxe Galaga. I love all the mini-games in DG, as well as all the secrets and bonuses. The shop is a great asset too. Also love the two-player game mode. Would be cool to see a similar game released, but perhaps with possibility of uploading high-scores on the Internet (fun to compete with other Amiga users), a decent save-game mode and perhaps network/Internet co-op. I'd gladly pay good money for such a game or support it on Kickstarter. :)

Thanks for asking the community. Good luck with your project! :)

PS: Also a game like Adventure Capitalist on the PC.. check it out if you don't know it.. it is very addictive. :) Think about such a game, but with Amiga worlds and events. Or how about a clicker-game like Clicker Heroes? :D

There's not much in way of tower defence games for the Amiga so it would make a difference to the usual tetris or breakout games that people usually do when they're starting out.

What language are you using, I think you may have mentioned AMOS in the past but I don't remember for sure.

No tower defense for me. Puzzle or strategy game sounds good.

A typical game I've always missed on Amiga is Beamrider.

Off course there are vertical shooters but this doesn't really classify as a vertical shooter in my opinion.

 The C= 64 version:

This game is graphically not very appealing but playability is just perfect!
If you manage to create the same amount of playability on Amiga with better graphics&snds it would be very addictive!
In addition: a simultaneous multiplayer would really make it perfect!

@ dennis

I just checked beamrider and looks like is possible for me to
do something like this in amospro.

My holy grail is an almost perfect scramble port.

Call me crazy but an updated version of "lemonade stand" that was on the Apple II platform would be fun. My kids aged 9, 11 and 13 love playing it.

Hard Hat Mack from the Apple would also be fun

I'd love to see something that's original, simple, fun, with a different play mechanic.  Some recent examples (of original and fun) that I could cite would be Flappy Bird (already ported), Jump! and Wall Jump Ninja for the Atari 2600, and perhaps Fahrfall for the Tandy Coco.

**edit**  I'd also kill to have a decent clone of Gorf, Atlantis, or Demon Attack on the Amiga...

Vanguard! Don't think it was ever made for the Amiga.

I was going to do this one myself, but I don't have the time or inclination anymore.  If you or anyone else wants to use it, feel free.  Apologies if it's been done already - I live under a rock :)

The Floor is Lava!

Based on the childhood game, players would hop around on the furniture in a living room setting, trying not to land on the floor (which is lava, and therefore fatal).

My original plan was to have it be a full-contact game like Super Smash Bros, rather than a non-contact "last man standing" game of attrition.  It would support up to 4 human players via the 4-player parallel joystick adapter (supported in Amos Pro), or some combination of human and CPU players.

Players can either wait for the others to fall into the lava themselves, or assist them in doing so by attacking.  To make things interesting, the lava is slowly consuming the furniture, therefore players have a finite amount of time to win.
