Greetings from one of Commodore's Treasurers
« on: March 03, 2008, 04:54:42 PM »
In 1983 I was Commodore International's VP Strategic Planning and later VP and Treasurer.

I own serial number 1 of the Commodore PET (given to me by Jack Tramiel when he left the company).

I also have a floppy of some of the plans from the Amiga Launch on a floppy.  I can read the floppy on my Amiga2000 but the pictures are in PIC and DeluxePaintIV won't load them :-(

I'm here to figure out a way to get them on my PC and maybe even view them to see if they are "newly discovered" early AMIGA Art.

I live in the Boston Area.

I wonder which Program was used to create those .pic Files.
I use (free) XnView on Windows, it can read 455 different Image File Formats
- and its not even the latest Version.
Some of these Formats end in .pic

The disk says AMIGADOS which I believe was an internal program we used to transfer files to an IBM XT or something silly like that.

I can boot the Amiga in AMIGADOS!!!!

This is like an archeological dig.

And I keep digging myself in deeper!!!!

@ amigatreas

I think GraphiCraft files ended in .pic.

I'm local to Boston as well, so let me know if I can help you out.

You could transfer the files from your Amiga 2000 to a PC using a Null Modem serial cable if you have one?

There are lots of free tools, but if you are prepared to spend a few bucks then AmigaExplorer will do all the work for you.

Once installed on the Windows side, Amiga Explorer can self-install to the Amiga over the serial cable without requiring any additional software, but the Amiga must be able to boot first (e.g. with a Workbench disk, at least version 1.2).
