As we are talking about VmwAROS videos, please have a look also at this one. I made it capturing the screen from VMware, so it looks slow. But you can always measure AROS speed using Stephen's videos (the ones above)...

Don't believe the hype, there are still people like me still working on AROS.

What is your problem? I've told you time an time again, a couple of developers who left (or were leaving) AROS, have decided to build an AmigaOS like userland for Linux (AKA Anubis)... AROS is not going anywhere and is moving along just fine, as it always has done! I actually see this as a benefit for AROS comunity since developers we would have lost are now remaining as part of it!

Quite impressive.  What can't it do?  Any news on attracting new developers?

New developers are coming. We had many new subscriptions to the developers mailing list, and I could see many quick ports in the last two months. This doesn't mean we're fine now, so new hands and new minds are always well accepted.

In my video I haven't focused on development stuff, since developers are not - imho - the best target for a video: I think that writing clearly on the webpage that VmwAROS has a complete development chain, able to compile AROS by itself, with an integrated IDE like Murks! is enough. Just add they can still use CubicIDE or any other tool they are accustomed to with AmiBridge.

when will the emulator be integrated in the background? run old amiga appz with an icon and you ill be fooled to think its running without an emulator??.

the way the emulator run now is not good....

anyway good to hear that aros is getting new developers, the ones that did run to anubis are very dishonest. cant start a new project and run away from an half finished project that dont look good at all.

That's a highly inappropriate comment to make. Michal Shulz, for example, has put more time into AROS than almost any other developer (probably only Staf and Georg have contributed more, off the top of my head...). But now there are things that some of us want to do which simply CANNOT be done with the AmigaOS design... Something like Anubis had to happen sooner or later (just as Apple had to move their OS to a proper UNIX)... at least this way it gets done properly by AROS developers.

I would note that no one has actually run away, both projects actually share developers at the moment, with Anubis being a fun playground for ideas at the moment.

okay, when you announce anubis before aros is finished you will get highly inappropriate strong opinions, people want aros to be finished and not another abandoned project, amiga have had enough of them. anyway keep up the good work with aros i am very pleased to see what is done so far. hopefully now there will be 100% focus on the x86 aros and we get it done :)

How on Earth did you confuse AI and Evert with Anubis development?
