E for AROS?
« on: August 21, 2007, 07:42:52 PM »
Has anybody been working on porting ECX and the E module library to AROS? Since it (ECX) is already up and running on MorphOS (which is a PPC OS) there's clearly some cross-platform support in there, but is anybody working on it adding x86/AROS support?

Personally, I think this would be a good thing as it provide a way to easily port a whole new set up apps to AROS (maybe even by allowing for simple re-compiles) AND it would provide a way to develop new programs in a language that's less "nasty" than C...

Leif has written in the E mailing list that he has AROS/PPC of ECX on his TODO list. But this will be PPC only.

IIRC PortablE creates either C or C++ source. Maybe this source can already be compiled for AROS?
