Title: Having errors in new ICAROS
Post by: AmigaFreak on April 03, 2015, 11:22:03 PM
Hey guys,

I'm having some small issues with the new ICAROS 2.0.3 Light version. I installed it on my Compaq Presario laptop, (HP produced, dual core, 2GB ram.. etc) Installation goes fine, sound works, Ethernet works fine. However, when I boot in the first time, if I do an install with the "extra" software option (With what little comes on the CD-R version) the "MyWorkspace" folder is not created, and AROS complains. (But still boots). The odd thing is, if I install without the extras, then the "Development" folder is not created, and the same thing happens at boot.

Then, I tried to load up OWB and I get an error with the AHCI driver, and it errors out and won't load. - I do not believe this to be a hardware error with my computer. Both Windows 8.1 Professional and Linux Mint have been run on this computer, with no issues or errors of any kind.

Should I try to use the standard DVD version? - Anyone have some advice?

Josh

I haven't seen the MyWorkspace problem. Maybe Paolo can answer that. It's possible the full DVD doesn't suffer from this problem.

ahci.device doesn't seem to be as mature as ata.device. If you can, try to use your HD with ata.device. First, move DEVS:ahci.device to SYS:Storage. If your HD doesn't work with Icaros after that, look in your BIOS options to see if you can use a legacy ATA/IDE mode. However, this may cause problems booting Windows/Linux (but you can fix this by switching back to the old options).
