AFAIK Blizzard has never done Amiga games.

Not in their current incarnation. I think they were responsible for the Lost Vikings, though.

The guys who did Wasted Dreams... Digital Dreams, I think? They were working on a Diablo clone, but I don't know if anything's come of it. It's been years since I've heard any news.

It's a shame, though. Blizzard's older stuff - Warcraft II and Diablo - would probably run well on classic Amigas. The tech specs are pretty low. Warcraft II will run on a 486, and Diablo only needs a 60MHz, maybe 75MHz Pentium. Simple 256-color 2d graphics. Shame a port was never done...

I have run Warcraft II on my Amiga via
Mac emulation.  Other than the title screen music,
it runs very well on an 060 equipped machine.

I have used Shapeshifter and Fusion to run Warcraft.
Diablo II would probably require iFusion to run.  Not sure
about Diablo I.

Hoya!

In other words, I should get ShapeShifter to run Diablo...

@Cap

Muhahahahaha!
First, to be able to drive a Diablo you need a driving licence.
Second, I do not need a car to attract redheads... ;-)
BTW, why didn't you pop up during the Meeting???

"In other words, I should get ShapeShifter to run Diablo..."

Sorry, but Diablo1&2 and Starcraft require a powermac :-(

You would need a CyberstormPPC with iFusion to make these games run. Diablo1 and Starcraft will probably run fine, but I doubt that you can make Diablo2 run smoothly, it needs quite a lot resources... you would need a g-rex or a Permedia2 to allow it to have enough bandwitch (a mediator or a prometheus don't have as much bandwitch). And even with enough bandwitch you would need the maximum of memory available free, a scsi hard drive (afaik it isn't supported directly by iFusion so you would need a hardfile with lots of buffers), a soundcard (well, in peecee switching off the music helps to speed up the game)... well... I doubt that you'll be able to make it run smoothly even with the minimum resolution of 640x480 and 16bits.

But Diablo1 is a different story and should run well in the CyberstormPPC. Starcraft requires a little more cpu power but it will probably run more or less smoothly. Both games run at 640x480 and 256colours so even a graphic card with a slow Z3 bus like the CV3D may be enough.

From what I've heard: Don't.

iFusion's commercial release is apparently on par in stability and usability with a Microsoft product's alpha version.

If you can get it for less than 20 USD it might be worth playing around with, but anything more than that is bound to end in disappointment.
