Pegasoses are arriving
« on: April 07, 2003, 03:47:10 PM »
For those keeping count, several (but not all) of the $299 Pegasoses sent to Finland arrived today (at least 6 of them), mine included. Included in the package were: the Pegasos mainboard and processor module (in separate antistatic bags for those wondering :-), an ATX backplate, MorphOS 1.3 CD-R, a T shirt, two stickers for a case and a single A4 connector "guide".  As an added bonus for waiting, also included were the games Feeble Files, Tales of Tamar and Software Tycoon for MorphOS in their original packaging. Thanks for the games, Genesi. I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Gotta say,

Sounds like a pretty damn good deal that you got there then!. Makes the prices for the A1 seem even higher tbh, I wonder what the A1 boards will come complete with?

Doubt it'll have the 'freebies' like you got there!

Infact, I have been getting slightly more tempted each month my Peg/mos systems - if those games were ini each send out I would probably order one today (umm.. if I had the money!  :-( )

Mine also arrived this morning.  I was a bit surprised to see all of the extras included - ie the t-shirt and games, they just added to the appeal.

Now to strip my PCs of parts so I can run it :-D

Thanks Genesi!

I was zonked out after having had my son wake up twice last night due to teething when my wife came in the bedroom and plopped this itty bitty box on the bed.  Sleepily, I opened it, and to my surprise, there was my pegasos, a MorphOS CD, t-shirt, some games, backplate, and CPU card.

Now, just need to find a modem!

Well, it has to be said. Genesi knows how to attract new customers with their good product presentation and beautiful coherent design. I have only one reason why I won't buy a Pegasos and that's because there's more than meets the eye :-D Hey, that could be a great new AmigaOS slogan!

I hope Amiga Inc., Eyetech and Hyperion will be able to compete on this level, otherwise it will be like good old Commodore: great products and service, but zero knowledge of marketing :-P   ;-)

I got notification that my Pegasos was on its way - can't wait to get it fired up for digital audio and midi work/play starting with the MorphOS version of ProStation Platinum! Among other things :  } ...Most of the people getting them through the Phoenix $299 offer/initiative have already received theirs, or should have gotten notification. More Pegasos $299 packages with all the goodies will be available to current Phoenix members, incidentally.

Also, BBRV and I have been talking about Yet Another T-shirt Initiative {YATI; }:

For all User Group members and leaders who are currently doing MorphOS/Pegasos stuff or would like to be, and want to get support and offers from Genesi and Phoenix. We have a mailing list called PhUG and will be happy to provide web space for your groups, and we want to build support programs with your help and set up some more special offers for all of you ...

But didn't I say T-SHIRT? Yes! We want to ship all you UG people T-shirts - with Genesi graphics on one side and whatever graphics/logo your User Group chooses on the other side.

No coupons required; just email me...

It's a very nice board.  Wish they hadn't gotten rid of the on-board modem tho, as my modem is ISA.

@downix

erhm if you are from Florida, why would you use a dial up connection? for most users a 256Kb DSL connection is just as cheap. and you get to use a nic instead. less cpu load.
