Indivision AGA Mk2 into Mirage 4000 Pro?
« on: September 14, 2013, 10:18:49 PM »
Hi,
Does anyone know if I can fit an Indivision AGA Mk2 A1200/4000T into my Mirage 4000 Pro tower?
I know it won't physically fit into an A4000D but apart from the physical restriction would there be any other issues? If it sounds like it might be compatible, I'll pull the tower apart and see if it will physically fit.

It's an issue with the Indivision fitting over the motherboard, so even though your machine is towerized, it's still a 4000D motherboard. It won't work.

No.

Indivision AGA Mk2 A1200/4000T is designed in a way that it would need daughterboard connector to be desolderd and taken off to make it fit in A4000motherboards.

I have Indivision AGA Mk2 A4000/CD32 installed under my Mediator and I added 2 coolers for it because Mediator will block airflow and Indivision AGAs will stress Lisa more or less anyway. 1cm high coolers are maximum that can fit between Indivision and Mediator.

When only Indivision AGA Mk2 A1200/A4000T was available I was going through theory about desoldering A4000 Lisa, soldering it to the end of wires and then pushing Lisa Inside Indivision AGA Mk2 A1200/A4000T socket.

That might have caused serious interference and unstability and even if not, would have been some ugly hack.
