Hi

Just got my A2000 up and going again (completely standard other than a SCIC HD and CD-ROM drive). I am not sure whether I should I go down what appears to be the cheaper Apollo firebird route or a ZZ9000 and maybe a Terrible fire 060 if one ever comes out with one for the A2000?

I really just want to use the newest Amiga 3.2 from roms with the standard software and build on that, as the firebird seems too much like a PC emulating an Amiga. Is that correct or can I still have the full "Classic Amiga" on a Firebird or do I need to use Apollo OS?

Hi

Thanks for that, still not fully sure as I am thinking of a TF356, GBAPII ++ RTG card for amiga and 8meg of Zorro ram might be all I need and about £100 cheaper, although I do like the the internet solution of the firebird.

Its a hard decision!

@sheepz

The Firebird is able to run any Amiga operating system such as Amiga OS 3.2. If you only want to run that OS then you can use a program called VampireFlash to flash Kickstart 3.2 to the Firebird. It is permanently there until you decide to either update the CPU core, in which case you will have to flash Kickstart 3.2 to the Firebird again, or you choose to flash another Kickstart.

Hi Sean

Thanks for the info, its a hard choice. I think I might go with a Terrible fire and Zz9000 or the GBAPII ++ RTG card. I know the Firebird will be the best and probably the cheaper option in the long run but I really want to load up my Zorro slots. Make it my dream big box ECS amiga from my youth (with cheaper modern equivalents  :-X) .

Although, there is a good chance I might change my mind  ;D
