Amiga tips
« on: June 02, 2026, 10:00:23 PM »
Greetings all!

I'm hopefully collecting an Amiga 500 on Saturday from the great Glen of the CRG YouTube channel and was wondering if there's anything I should take into account beforehand when I get it? It comes with a Spitfire accelerator, a few games, a joystick, PSU, RGB SCART cable, mouse and a 2GB SD card with Workbench 3.1 in an SD to 44 pin IDE adapter. I know that Windows can't read Amiga file systems so I will make sure to use WinUAE if I wanna transfer files, but wanna make sure there's anything else that's important I should know.

- 1MB chipram
- Quickshot II Turbo or similar joystick
- SD to 44 pin IDE with Workbench preloaded on a 2GB card
- Robocop, Street Fighter 2, Advantage Tennis & Zool

I guess it all depends on what you plan to do with it. Only thing that comes to mind is if you have a monitor that can display 15kHz modes, otherwise you'll need something like RGB2HDMI or similar.
