Editing comments to gallery pictures

Not only is the problem of the randomly missing "post comment" and "reply" buttons in the image gallery, there seems to be another problem.

Is anyone else unable to edit comments is the image gallery? You can go through the motions of editing your comments, by actually editing them and submitting the edited comment, and it thanks you for doing so, but the changes are not recorded and the old version remains.

Actually I just tried editing and it worked. However you're right that the comment bit in the pic gallery behaves very erratic. Sometimes the reply button doesn't show at all.

I think it's the same in the comments section of the newsitems (not sure though).

i just tried editing and it didn't work - the change didn't take effect.

The changes will take effect, but you won't see them until a new reply comes in.

Appears to me to be some kind of strange caching issue.  I mentioned it here, where I made a butchering of a picture.

Some sections of the site are cached, and only updated every so often.  The gallery may be one of those sections.  Wayne??

I cannot post or reply comments in the gallery section. Solution?

Update: It seems that now I can but with "Shadow of the Beast" not. I have not tried more but I clicked some in the recent photo list and I can post. But not for the Shadow of the Beast picture.

In one of the other threads about this, someone pointed out that you can change the thread view settings and click on "Refresh" to get the reply and post comment buttons to appear. It works.

I don't think I've seen an explanation as to why the buttons sometimes are missing.
