Some powerbook settings questions.
« on: September 04, 2014, 08:26:02 PM »
Hi All,

Been using MorphOS for awile now on a mac mini, but not spent much time on it for awhile.

Just got myself a powerbook G4.  All installed with morphOS and Mac OSx10.5 dual boot :)

Two Quick questions(for now) that I hope somone can help me with.

Loving have wirless at last on MorphOS :) :)

 1)  I cannot seem to get the right click on the trackpad to work as a right click.  How do I go about doing this ? Is there a way.  I cannot find a specific option in prefs like u get on OSX.

2) This is a longshot.  Is there anyway of switching on and controlling the backlight on the keyboard.

Thanks All

Worked it out. PowerBook don't have right click. Have to use gesture or shift lick commodity

Indeed it's listed as gesture, but it's the way most laptops do it today: A two finger tip does the right click.

Preferences -> touchpad. Checkmark at "gestures" "use two fingers for a richt button click".
Can't remember when I used a physical right button on a laptop for the last time. It's pretty quick and convenient, albeit a little too sensitive on MorphOS for my taste.

I don't like that option, no feel with it. I've disabled that setting, but enabled "Hold two fingers and press the touchpad button for a right button click" instead. I can live with that much better when I don't have external mouse connected (which I usually do) :)

I use mouse on most laptops.  As this not main machine will probably not bother.  Unless the support for modern wireless keyboards/mice from Microsoft work on morphos ?

I've heard few times that Microsoft's wireless devices haven't worked, but Logitech and other cheap brands have worked always here and haven't heard complaints about them either.

I got use to the touchpad while playing a game.
If the laptop is positioned correctly it is easier. I bet a lot of people are hunched over their laptops and it is awkward.

Wow, I could never get into a touchpad enough to play games with it, tho I never use laptops, I only have an old Thinkpad T41 with the big docking station for use with my EPROM burner and other old software that requires Windows 98/Windows XP and legacy ports and even there I rather use the little "mouse knob" in the middle of the keyboard instead of the touchpad haha :)
