I am having a problem with the Play CD program that comes with OS3.9
I have 2 CD drives one is IDE and is the slave to my IDE hard drive. The second is a SCSI drive. When I use play CD with the IDE drive it plays fine. When I try to use it with the SCSI drive I get an error message and when you clik Okay to the message it close Play CD.
The errror message is
"SCSI command error, gvpscsi.device, unit 2"
I know it is with the configuration for Play CD because both CD drives work fine for everything else.
First it would not recognize the SCSI drive or it would just lock up the system needing to be rebooted. Then I tried making a copy of the Play CD icon and editing the Tool Types to change the DEVICE and UNIT #. Now it opens up gives me an error message then closes. When I use the original icon it works fine with the IDE drive.
The TOOL TYPE for the copy Play Cd icon are as follows:
DOSDEVICE=CD1
DEVICE=gvpscsi.device
UNIT=2
All the other Tool Type enters are the same.
One added note, the system will not let me rename the "copy Play CD" icon using the WB drop down menu.
My System specs are
A4000 in Power Tower Case 4 meg fast ram on motherboard.
OS 3.9 with BBG 1 and 2 installed.
Quantum 3gig IDE hard drive and 32x CD-rom drive.
CyperStorm MK III 060 with 72 meg ram
Cypergraphx 64/3D
GVP 4008 SCCI Controller with 8 meg ram, Toshiba 2x CD drive and internal ZIP drive (CD is set to ID 2 and ZIP is ID 3)
I don't boot from the GVP board. I use it for the zip drive and for my scanner. I installed the the CD drive becasue it was laying around and it makes working with mutiple Cd's easier.
Like I said both CD drive work fine other than this problem.
Any suggestions
