@ddniUK
It is not a bad looking machine, but there is better, imo.
It sounds like a rehash of older tech.

c64gs was just a C64 without the keyboard datasette and serial ports.
You cold already use cartridges in a normal C64 so the whole thing was pointless. Clearly aimed at master system fans

The Master System was more powerful then the C64 except for the sound that was very crappy and Sega didn't release the FM add-on outside of Japan.  The Amiga was what got the attention of Sega fans, it made the SMS look totally primitive and the Genesis didn't come out till '89 in the US.

Are you talking about designing your own system?  If so, you should just use the MiniMig, and call the SD memory a "cartridge".  This would give you a cartridge based game console with specs almost identical to a NeoGeo.  If you want a more "cartridgy" feel, then replace the SD cards with Compact Flash.

If you want a really powerful console, forget the Minimig and go with either the Natami with its SuperAGA chipset or, if you don't mind running your Amiga stuff in an emulator, the Pandora hand-held will be a welcome addition to any developer's toybox.

Note:  Both are close to being released so it's probably not worth starting over from scratch just to find somebody else is doing what you wanted to do.
