yeah that seems like a real good deal, after all, most of us have been used to running workbench on a lot less, not even on a 603 (unless you're one of the lucky beta testers of OS4), so this would obviously be a great leap forward, and let those who don't really need such a powerful system to run OS4

Sweet. Except saying it will be released when OS4 is released is pretty much marketing suicide in this community. ;-)

Simple. Its built in to the Freescale MPC5200 processor. The board has to fit inside an original Amiga 1200 case, so using extra chips is a bad thing. There is a feature summary here:

Well USB 1.1 requires chips too, besides it's not like the chips are the size of CPU's or anything!

Not having full speed USB 2.0 will really cripple a unit like this considering that's it's main expansion slot...

Also I bet it's a 1200 add on, because it would not be fast enough to emulate 68k code efficiantly, except with old games or what ever...

Man!  What should I spend my money on?  This one, the Dragon from Elbox, the Elbox Shark, the Amy'05...surely any one of these is a worthy replacement for my AmiJoe

Despite my complaints, I'm pretty sure on this one so long as it isn't bogus.

It's all I can afford.

Aw I was just kidding.  I reckon this one will at least see a limited release (at least).

This chip has the USB controller built in.  That's the point, pretty much everything that requires extra support chips is built-in.  Following the link instead of blindly arguing would of made this evident to you.

It's an A1200 add-on because it's an A1200 add-on.  Some of us prefer the orignial Amigas.  Also as a nice bonus you get access to the actual, real-life AGA chipset rather than having to try and emulate it.

It should outpace an 040 easily, even the crippled BlizzardPPC and CSPPC cards can do that.  And once again, if you had bothered to actually read the information presented to you (you know the stuff you're commenting on), you'd know it also can run as a stand-alone board.

(Not that being attached to an A1200 would change that as the 020 on the A1200 would be disabled by this card, just like with a Blizzard)

People have taken the time to bring you this information, at the very least you could read it properly.

So that's what they mean by integrated...

Anyhow, just because the things runs without  a 1200 doesn't mean it will do the emulation well at those speeds, hence the NEED for the 1200.

Don't get pissed because I'm pointing out a possability, it's just a material object anyhow.

I'm pointing out that for those who don't have a 1200 to hook this up to, they may not be so happy as opposed to actually having a 1200 hooked up to it.

I'm interested in what it means by having the sound combined with the paula chip set, etc.

And yes, I'm quite sure this will blow away a 040, just don't expect to be doing any MPEG editing or what ever on here...

...it would work, but it would probably take a while, but who knows, maybe that CPU can do more than what I realize.
