Title: A1200 colour display.
Post by: Gemmstone4291 on July 12, 2019, 12:10:30 PM
Guys, I need some help. My A1200 is only displaying 4 colours, although the settings show 256. It is linked to an old Crt/DVD tv amiga-scart lead. All games play fine and have full colour. Any advice would be extremely welcome. I have magic menu and magic copper in the WB start-up and garshneblanker.

Do you get an "intuition wants to reset the workbench screen" requester during boot? Do not cancel it but follow the advice to close all windows. And solve the cause of it, i.e. remove all output from startup-sequence so that the initial shell window does not open before the workbench appears.

Maybe IPrefs is not even in Startup-Sequence, or commented out. Or ENVARC: assigned to somewhere clever... :)

Maybe C:SetPatch is missing or missing from the Startup-sequence. Also, are you sure you're running AmigaOS 3 or above? Anything less and no more than 16 colours will be available within Workbench.
