Champion's League
« on: March 24, 2004, 08:13:32 PM »
Wasn't going to go looking for the old thread  - and perhaps I wouldn't be able to bump a Talk About thread to here in any case?

Anyway, I kept telling myself yesterday that I'd go to watch the Arsenal-Chelsea game in the pub and Doh! I forgot :-(
Will have to content myself with the BBC Sport website.

Anyway, fingers crossed for Chelsea, they have the odds against them I fear. The other game is Monaco vs Real Madrid.
Anyone else on here still following the tournament? Kees is MIA and I haven't seen Calen post recently....
I like Amigas

Champions League reloaded :-)

Me personally i had lost interest in the league after Man U going out, but i really enjoyed the Arsenal vs Chelsea quarter final 2nd leg. Well done Chelsea...you guys done well,  but we did help soften them with the previous game  so it was all downhill for the gunners, good old teamwork :-D

Now whats next... ah yes, Arsenal letting the Premier league slip and Man U lift the FA cup, perfect! well almost, perfect would be us winning the premier league to but thats kinda unrealistic but not impossible, ahmm.

Biggest suprise and upset of the nite had to have been the Real Madrid vs Monaco game, how a team with such class in there squad could loose after such a great 1st leg is beyond me. there def has always been there weakest link and that shows more than ever now

I could see Chelsea reaching the final this year if there on form for this semi final against Monaco, they have a higher chance anyway than what they would have had if they had ended up playing the mighty Real Madrid when on form.

On a slightly different note, I think it would be good for Chelsea if the rumuors are true about finally keeping there manager, i think he's quite good and see no reason to boot em out. Mr Billionaire is just being a silly unrealistic greedy {bleep}.

Champions league reloaded :-)

Monaco last night beat Chelsea 3-1, even though they were down to 10 men, thanks to Chelsea drama queen Claude Makelele. Dado Prso put Monaco in front after 17 mins but 5 mins later Chelsea equalised through Hernan Crespo. Fernando Morientes made it 2-1 13 mins from the end, and 5 mins later, with his first kick of the game after coming on as a sub 30 secs earlier, Sylvani Nonda made it 3-1 Monaco.

The pressure is now piling on Claudio, so if you could sign the guestbook on the Save Claudio website to show your support for the guy, it would be greatly appreciated by the fans of Chelsea FC.  :-)
