IBM To Launch MS-Office For Linux (http://www.infoworld.com/article/04/02/13/HNlinuxoffice_1.html)

Using "Emulation"
Nice, and not only that, but us Linux users will have .NET soon. My question is, why the heck is the Linux community so obsessed with running Windows applications? Why not make nicer Linux applications instead. Is it just a matter of "So what, my linux instalation runs Office to, you uninformed Windoze user!" bragging rights?

@GreggBz

I don't think Linux users are exactly 'obsessed' about MS-Office, they just want those products for work (even when openoffice.org's compatability is very good IMHO)

IBM just recognize that there is a market for people who would rather not run windows, but want to run common apps
