Try the "Web interface" option under :Join us for live chats" on the menu bar down the left hand side.

[EDIT]
Hmmm just noticed that the web interface doesn't work any more. If you go to the Information link then it will give you details of the IRC channel.

Actually another quick question. Do I need anything special to install a hard drive on my amiga 600, Install workbench 2.x or even 3.x (if possible) then use visual prefs and finally whdload so I can put all my amiga games (3 big boxes) into the hard drive?

You need a laptop-sized hard drive to fit in the A600 case. The A600 comes with a 2.x ROM chip so you can install that to hard drive. If you want 3.x you will need a 3.x ROM chip. If you want to use VisualPrefs and WHDLoad you will need an accelerator with Fast RAM.

[EDIT]
OTOH, you might as well just buy an A1200...

Obtaining a 2.5" drive is easy enough, what accelerator should i use for the 600?

A620 or A630 are the only options I think - 68020 and 68030 processors respectively. A620 would do the trick for playing WHDLoad games, but A630 would be a bit faster (probably not significant if you're only using it for WHDLoad)

Not really. The 040s are hotter than the 030s.

That would be better as you get AGA as well, and A1200s are much easier to upgrade.

Carefull, some A600s came with 2.04 ROMs (no HD, no PCMCIA9, so one should 1st check wether atleast 2.05 is installed.

3.5-HD can be made fit, just leave out the craddle and buy an adaptor-cable (Vesalia).

If the A600 is a non-HD version you probraly don't have the 2.5-craddle nor the the small ribbon-cable and have to buy these (atleast the cable) before installing an HD.
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Oh btw same goes for the A1200, expect the ROM-part as all 3.x-ROMs have HD-support.

Kronos is wrong.

All kickstart 2 family chips come under the name of Kickstart 2.04.

What you are looking for is the version number. e.g. 37.300

You need 37.350 to use a HD over 40mb iirc

All A600s (including non HD versions) include the cradle iirc.

You wont get a 44pin IDE cable though.

You should get a Compact Flash card as harddrive rather than a 2.5.

No noise, heat. Saves room

You can buy the Compaq Presario 1200 XL (or XL-O) drive cable instead. It is ALMOST IDENTICAL to the commodore's original (a little bit longer). Easy to find on Ebay.

And inexpensive! I've had buy a 3 units lot for US$9.00 plus 2 S&H. :-D

The 37300 ROM can handle up to 1 Gb HD, 37350 version can handle 2 Gb. versions =<37299 cannot handle ANY IDE.

3.0 and 3.1 ROMs requires 3.0 and 3.1 Workbench versions, who is too heavy for poorly equipped A600.  :-(

BTW: Workbench versions up to 3.1 are FREEWARE (needless to say the 3.5, 3.9 and 4.0 are not?!?), but the ROMs ARE NOT!
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
