Hello to everybody,
after some posts, I want not to introduce myself.
I am an old Amiga lover, I bought an A1000 in the old 1986 in Italy... then years passed, I gave the A1000 as a gift to a dear friend and I had to shift to PC (ARGH!!!! Forgive me) for study and work...
During this Xmas vacation I decided it was time to have an Amiga again in my house! :lol: not only WinUAE! ;-)
So now I have an A1000 and an A1200. :-D
The story of the A1000 is quite nice! :-)
I bought her on ebay from Germany and I was very afraid to receive something broken... you can imagine how I felt opening the box... :-o
What I saw:
* the case had a small crack (the monitor has been sent above the body!!!);
* some plastic parts were disaligned;
* some coverings were missing.
Well... I though it could have been worst... :-|
I connected the cables and... the Amiga started!!! She asked me the kickstart... joy!!!!!!
I inserted the floppy... some noice... nothing...
What to do (remember that many years passed after my original A1000)? Idea... I bought an A1010...
In the meantime I found out the covering and repaired the body! I opened the Amiga and polished everything... inside she is perfect! I also noticed that the DE keybord was made from a US one with labels... REMOVED!!! Now I have the original US keyboard as it must be! ;-)
Finally the A1010 arrived and I made the replacement!!!
EVERYTHING WORKS NOW!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
I also bought another A1010 as external drive but only the upper head works... the below one sometime works and other times do not... I will try to polish and to realign... let's see...
I also bough an A1200 with "some" expansion to enjoy the latest things... I am happy now!!! :lol:
And it is also lovely to look for pieces/expansions/things!!!
Well... perhaps I wrote too much... the story of the A1200 next time!
