A3000 16/40 Old time Amiga user Coming Back Hopefully
« on: October 05, 2005, 03:44:53 AM »
I've been doing some "spring cleaning" (yeah...in the fall! -have been trying to come up with good definition for the word "procrastination", but have put it off for another time) :-)

Anyhow, I've been Digging out boxes of '89-'96 amiga software and mags/books (stored them well-I even have an Amiga1000 book/manual-doesn't say "1000" though...they didn't number them yet) and then had to break out the Amiga 3000 and turn it on.  Yeah! it works pretty good except "return" key and oh, yeah... the clock is off 'cause I had to take the battery off motherboard so it wouldnt destroy my precious.

So, due to raising family and other adventures... I was thinking of selling.   But...now I think I'm in love again.  I just can't see letting go of the best computer I've owned... even though it will take a little relearning and upgrading (ihope).  I will be Posting questions in hardware issues forum..

Got hooked on Amiga while in college in Springfield, Mo ...Owned an A1000 with 1.5meg expansion card in '88 (that was my second best computer I ever owned-and wished I'd never sold that one), then A500, and in '92 bought Amiga 3000 16mhz/40megHD, Oceanic 2nd diskette drive, and added some memory and have 1084s-p monitor that still works, but also have 19inch viewsonic I use.... built in flicker fixer is great!

Anyhow...guess I'm back with my miggy....I have lots'o stuff to go through.... so see ya for now.

Lar in Florida

P.S. last disk(s) I was enjoying was Demo - Dual Crew - Sonic Attack...Great Mods!
Amiga 3000D 16/4GB-HD/6mg ram- 2.04ks/wb rev9, Intel core 2 duo e6750, 4gig ram, 2-130gig raptors in raid0,evga 8800gts512 and a Amd64-3400-EVGA 6800 GS,160Gb & 80gb HD,1gig Corsair xmspro (both DIY/BIM systms)

I'm glad you put the "But" after that! Don't ever sell, you'll only regret it!
