I'm thinking the XScale CPU... the iPod already uses an ARM based chip.. the Apple Newton used a StrongARM chip...

So my bet is on Apple using the Xscale for a new mobile device.

Apple have no reason to go x86 on the desktop, there is far too much software inveestment in the PPC... unless some clever chap at apple has designed a special "user mode" PPC Jit to sit on top of an x86-64 comple of darwin that has no mmu issues... only then would a move to the x86 be worthwhile.
