Indy Jones Fate Atlantis Sun Disk?
« on: December 02, 2011, 09:01:56 PM »
Alright, so I'm playing through Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis under MorphOS (talkie version).

I am at an old Nazi dig site and am stranded on an Island. Sophia was just kidnapped by the Nazi's etc. etc. etc.

I have a basket, fishing net, but need the balloon.

Anyhow, when I try to use the Sundisc on the door at the dig site, no matter what I align it to, it does not work.

I hate to cheat, but I went to Gamefaqs and had a look at this guide, but....

It don't freakin' work! :/

Any ideas?

I'm not at home right now. Off the top of my head I can tell you this.

I raced around the desert, found the Nazi Dig site, left there, flew to an island which I am now deserted on. I am apparently collecting pieces for a flying balloon, and there is another Nazi dig sight where in I am trying to figure out the Sundisc puzzle.

Heh :)

You are in Crete. (but I don't remember a balloon)

As far as I remember you need both the Sunstone and another stone to open that door.

you did some kind of surveying using some kind of instrument to find an X and you found the moonstone there. (it was about some bull statue's head and its horns)

Are you sure you are not thinking of the desert? The part where you get a map with an X on it to find the Nazi dig site that had the Sun Disc?

That's where I was before where I'm at now.

I'll look around the island and see if there is some place I could be digging.

Something like this, at 9:30, but the "Klick" don't happen.

I think tonight I shall try to transfer my save file to Windows and try it on the official version. Perhaps this might be a bug with the MorphOS port? I know the AROS version is a wreck, so maybe this still has a bug or two left as well? I really don't see what I'm missing here!

Each round of the game the alignment is different so no one can tell you how to align the stones. You have to try with help of Plato's Dialogues (indeed they give all the necessary clues). Anyhow, there is not so many combination so you can try all of them. Important is that the alignment of the stones is the same throughout the whole game. Meaning that if Sunstone only was aligned in one position, this position has to be aligned during the whole game in a very much the same way. And there are no half positions. Remember also to use the spindle after the alignment.

It would helpful if you could show us screens of you Plato's Dialogue (and stones during the alignment). I think we could figure out the alignment.

I did post pics of my Plato's Lost Dialog. It reads the same every time I load up the game and try this.

Look through my previous posts here.

The cave did collapse.

Also in this demonstration the players relies only on the sun disc, but I'll watch the video again, maybe he used a moon stone and I somehow missed it? All I know is that I do not possess a moon stone, I'm stuck on this island, and I can not backtrack.

Aghh well what do you know....

O.K. JUST before he enters the cave (where I am) the player closed the lid on the box sitting outside. Stuck to the lid was the letter needed to get the balloon!

Also, before when I watched this video, I would turn it off as soon as he adjusted the sun disk and you hear the "KLIK" sound, as I did not want to see any spoilers.

Well as it turns out, in this guy's experience, it reveals a sign written in some ancient dialog...

...but when I played, that sign was there from the get go. How strange.

Anyhow, all I needed was to get the balloon, put it together, fill it with air, and I'm off the island.

Apparently this game does not play the same way, regardless of what path you pick because the guy in this video and I have both apparently chosen the same path, but the results were slightly different.

I was wrong on one thing though, like the guy in this video, I found my sun disk in a street drain, not at the Nazi Dig site.

At the Nazi dig site I found that statue that allowed me to start up the truck.

Anyhow, I'm back into the game again, and for those who have not played it, or have only played the old Amiga non-talkie version, I HIGHLY suggest you bust out ScummVM on MorphOS, or OS 4 or AROS if it is polished enough, and play this sucker!!!! It totally compensates for the lack luster movie that we were recently treated with.

Definitely! It's a great game. If you're playing under SCUMMVM make sure you set it up with MT32 music, you are really missing out otherwise :)

From the Docs of Fab's port of ScummVM:

"This is a MorphOS build of ScummVM 1.4.0, requiring PowerSDL 14.x or later.

Note: The MT32 emulation seems to be broken since 1.2.0. I haven't figured out why yet, unfortunately.

If you encounter any issue, contact me at: ..."

So thank you FallenOne for this advice, I'll have to check into this Sound Font business! Maybe that will restore musick to those few games that are missing it.

And here's a working link to compliment his broken one. ;)
