Database issues?

In the short time I've been back I've noticed the site often whitescreens on loading a page or redirecting, sometimes with an error message indicating database connectivity issues. Is this something the admins are aware of ?

As if to underscore the point I created this thread twice by accident due to refreshing after connection issue on posting.
