Hi All,
I have some news for you from the Linux PPC side.
We have been testing the development versions of the kernel 4.7 since few months. We haven't found any problems with the kernel 4.7 on the AmigaONE X5000 but there was a boot problem with the AmigaONE X1000.
Darren was able to solve it and he was able to integrate a bootfix patch to the official kernel source code. Additionally we had to modify a little bit the Nemo patch because there was a lot of changes in the PowerPC code of the kernel 4.7.
Now, the kernel 4.7 works without any problems on the X5000 and X1000.

forum.hyperion-entertainment.bizAdditionally we have been testing openSUSE Tumbleweed PPC64 since few months. We created an img for the AmigaONE X5000 and X1000 two days ago.
openSUSE Tumbleweed is experimental and alpha software! It's only for testing and tinkering!Full story:
forum.hyperion-entertainment.bizThere are some news from the A1222 side as well. The PowerPCSPE version of Debian is an official port now!

Adrian our new member of the A-EON Core Linux Support Team had recreated the PowerPCSPE port of Debian. We are testing Debian 9 Sid/Stretch on our Tabor boards currently.
Of course, we are testing ubuntu MATE 16.10 on our X5000 and X1000 as well.
At the end some screenshots:

Please note: We are working for the A-EON Core Linux Support Team. We are not a part of Hyperion and we are not involved in the OS4.1 development.
But .... we use OS4.1 a lot! I like the latest version of the Odyssey web browser for example. Odyssey 1.23r4 works fantastic and is the best web browser on my AmigaONE X1000. It's very fast and it works better like Firefox 47 on Linux PPC.

Cheers,
Christian
