Amiga 1000 keyboard not working

RE: Amiga 1000 keyboard

These keyboard keys do not work for upper and lower case:

7
e r t
m

And the arrow keys do not move the cursor in notepad.

And the backspace key does not appear to work.

When testing the lower case "r" worked. After testing with shift key the lower case "r" now does not work.

Are these keys all connected?

This keyboard has the metal key structure attached to a circuit board. Does not seem easy to clean contacts.

Do any of the PC keyboard adapters work with the 1000?

I know from my A1000 keyboard that it has a telephone-style jack that connects into the main unit. Check to see if one of the pins on the jack itself is broken off or bent awkwardly.

look at that circuit board to see if the keys are on the same line. if its the same as A500 keyb than it has two layers of lines which can be connected with keys. you could try repair with liquid silver but its expensive (also used for repairing car glass heaters)
Better sorry than worry.
