While trying to diagnose a video problem on my Windows XP SP3 computer, I was checking the driver versions of all my hardware. While checking for updates of my sound-card driver (Delta audiophile 192) I saw that the manufacturer listed the driver version that I have installed as being for Windows XP 64-bit computers.
I was surprised at this because I do not have a 64-bit installation of WindowsXP (nor a 64 bit CPU). Instead I have a 32-bit CPU/installation of Windows and I have been using this driver for over a year without any apparent problems.
There is an older driver listed by the manufactuer as being available for Windows XP 32-bit computers.
...have I done something that could cause me problems by installed a 64-bit driver on a 32-bit system? I didn't even think it was possible to install a 64 bit driver on a 32 bit system!
Thanks...
