By all means, rattle his cage and push it as far as you can. Needs to be taught a lesson, "don't mess with Amiga folks".

Ha.  People always have some BS excuses.  If he doesn't ship in a week post his contact info here, and that troll-bait "moobunny" forum, and everywhere else, just for giggles.  :)

He contacted a seller on eBay and wired him money, without completing the transaction within eBay.

Why do so many people blame eBay for some bad sellers? There are thousands of good, genuine sellers trying to make an honest living on eBay, who will bend over backwards to help if something goes wrong just like any other company. I know this, because I'm one of them.

It's like walking down a street, picking the cheapest and dodgiest shopfront, getting ripped off by it, and then telling everyone about how evil the entire street is.

Stick to the good sellers and stick within eBay's rules and you won't get burnt.

So many people just ask this sort thing to happen! ebay is totally safe - IF you work completey within ebay. That way, if anything goes wrong, they will refund you money quite quickly.
Also, don't accept money any way except Paypal. If some buyer doesn't like that - tuff %&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!. It completely protect you.
I have used ebay for so many years, I don't remember how many. I have had 1 rather small problem in all that time - and ebay fixed it immediately.
If you use ebay corectly, it is 100% safe.

I'll vouch for that!

Sold an item a while back.  Buyer paid, then they (paypal AND ebay) froze the transaction as it seems the buyer had his account hacked.  I contacted him and he said he definitely wanted the item.

Waited and waited.  Paypal contacted me wanting my input.  I logged in and my ONLY options were to refund his money.

Sent paypal an email explaining the situation and attaching the emails from the seller where he stated he still wanted the item.  They totally ignored me.

Paypal refunded his money and charged ME for the service fees!

I relisted the item and have blocked that particular buyer.  He can't control his stuff and I get screwed.  Thanks, but no thanks.

Surprisingly enough, the relisted item actually sold for more, so in the end they did me a favor, but still, it's all about protecting the buyer.

Heck, a seller can't even post a negative feedback for a non-paying buyer.  Seems that is retaliation.  To me, it's letting other sellers to avoid the jerk!

Just my 2 cents tossed in.

I usually sell a fair amount on ebay, and have never run into anything like that. Damn!  I have had ebay back me up in the one skirmish I had with an assh*le buyer. He tried to say the item was not as listed - But the text of my listing was spot on, as were the two photos. So, he lost. He is now banned from all of my auctions or sales. I sorta like that feature.....

Geeze.  The worst I ever had was a case of "buyer's remorse" from someone who bought one of my old 1084 monitors off me.  The auction closed at 9:30pm on a Friday night and their payment came through an hour or so later (in other words, very late at night).  The UPS guy picked up the package on Monday.  In my auction I promised "ships within 24 hours", and they tried to go back and say I hadn't done that, in order to get a refund.  But obviously UPS Ground doesn't pick up on weekends, so ebay/paypal backed me up, and I got the money.  Still took a couple weeks though, and was kind of an unnecessary pain in the ass.   I've now changed my auctions to say something like "ships within 1 business day".  Jackasses.

But still - never go outside of ebay policies!  :(
