Ads in the paper
« on: February 13, 2008, 09:18:11 PM »
I was thinking of putting an ad in the paper for those who don't want their Amiga/Commodore 64 hardware anymore.  We could actually do this as a group project.  I'm sure there are people with this hardware in their basement that would be willing to get rid of it.  If we did this as a group project, we could all benefit because there may be more calls with more equipment than we could use and if I was offered equipment from every call, I could actually post it here.  I think you might get a better deal than the Ebay route.

What do you think?

Sure, sounds like a great idea.  Do you have a standard text that you use for an ad?

I think you could keep it short so the ad is under $30 or $35 dollars.

Wanted: Commodore Amiga computers. Contact xxx-xxx-xxxx or yourname@domain . whatever

I think that would be under the limit.  Also, metropolitan newspapers generate a lot more business than rural ones but you never know because people who could afford Amigas live in the suburbs.

I do that in Denmark :-)

Some replies, but most people who have an Amiga here, they keep it for their own use.
A1200, Blizzard 030, 2+32MB ram, 4GB CF, pcmcia netcard, Kickstart 3,1
A600, 2MB chip ram+4Mb pcmcia S-RAM, Kickstart 3,1

I have a few sneaky ad texts that I use to get hardware. Most of them have been pretty successful. I've only had to pay for 1-2 of the computers I've gotten my hands on but the one I paid for ended up having a 2320 and was in mint condition. $25 was a fair deal!
