Recurring donations for amiga projects
« on: August 19, 2007, 02:24:34 PM »
I have so far just donated to the AmiKit project.

But I also want to donate to WinUAE, and I consider donating to AROS.

My problem (as I'm sure is the case with a lot of you here) is that I'd like to give all my money, but I cannot.

Therefore I'd like to se recurring donations schemes set up with payal, kinda like on a subscrption basis.

Say I click a button on amikit page ("Donate regularly" vs "Donate"). I then get a choice to set which amount I can donate monthly and on which day.

This way I could for instance donate €10 every month the 20th, the day I get my paycheck ;-)

What do you think?

Hi,

There is such a scheme for AROS projects by the way. Visit Team AROS for information.

Recurring donations can be set up in multiples of either $5 or $10 (USD).  Most give $5 though, that way it's like giving up a beer at a nightclub @ month for AROS. That's it, donate a beer to Miss Kitty!

Okay, I've done my bit for sept07 ;-)

Now, what happens when a deadline on an assigned bounty is passed? Will the assigned bounty go back to open, or will the developer have to give a status update in the news section?

I notice that most assigned bounties have passed their deadlines. But all the news only speak of donations, and not how the bounties are progressing, or if any cvs commits have been done.

Thank you for the EUAE bounty donation and Aug's TeamAROS-Benefactor's donation.  Not sure you cancelled the subscription afterwards, but feel free to come back.  I'll put you on the TeamAROS-Benefactors ML for Aug since you do have a vote coming to you.

Depends actually on the bounty and the developer.  Typically the Dev will ask for a 50% extention which is typically granted after a quick poll on TeamAROS ML is generated.  If the bounty is really for one dev and there is no alternative dev to do it, we just let it ride.  Example of this is AROS64, Dr. Schulz had mutliple real life issues come up but since it's his project, we let it ride till he can finish it.

No, only one is past the deadline, AROS X86_64.  To read the deadline's format is year-month-day since North America an EU have different date formats.  Example, for me, today's date is 08-20-07 (Aug 20th, 2007).  Typically News is either generated automatically via donations (scripted thanks to Olivier2222), assignments, major donations, system news, reassignments, and completions.  Project status is delt with the TeamAROS ML (vs TeamAROS-Benefactors ML which is a closed list for Benefactor's use only).  TeamAROS ML is open to any to join and archives can be found here. I query the Dev on his bounty at the half way point  of his/her bounty time, and then at final 30 days and at the last 15 days for project updates.  Commits to the SVN is handled via AROS's ML.

I now officially dislike PayPal, and I'm few steps away from pure hate...

What happened is I bought some stuff from Vesalia (€200 worth of trinkets...) and they refused to handle the transaction with giving wrong error message. So I changed my VISA card on my profile, and since 0 cards were available a short time all my subscriptions were cancelled. Grr...

Well, only the AROS subscription was the one I bothered to reenlist :)

Now I have to use bank transfer to Vesalia. But I've bought stuff from them before, so I don't expect any problems.
