video effect repository, advice wanted
« on: June 18, 2005, 05:04:22 PM »
Hi!

Let's introduce myself:

I'm the most proficient writer for Hugi diskmag since 2 editions, it's not Amiga diskmag but continue reading please.

I post as I need advice for the project I'm currently working on:

The Video Effects Repository (not final name).

Its aim is to be the only one (enough duplicated function website) video effect repository including all oldskool’s effects and film effects.

As it's a huge project, I need to get your advice:

It’s a web site mainly for you sceners and should focus on your needs.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
What do you want to be included as information in this database, that's my question!
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If you think you aren't concerned, don't want to participate, think it's better to contact coders for this, or for any other reasons, please forward this to a member of your group who in your humble opinion can be of more help, thanks.

Please don't send it to database focused guys only:
I need different point of views and not only technical point of view.

Thank you very much for your time and taking part in this survey.

Deadline for sending advice is 18/09/2005.

Happy summer.

Well, anything to do with video effects on the Amiga must include reference to the software / hardware that made the machine so good for video:

1) Video Toaster (hardware and software)
2) Scala (software)
3) Deluxe Paint (software)
4) Lightwave (software)

Is that what you want, or do you want to know all the wipes/fades/dissolves etc? Dunno how that can be done.

and also . .  what do you mean as "old school effect?

We have some way to perform video productions with Amiga:

the most used are/were

- with the VideoToaster/Flyer (only NTSC)

- with every Amigas+a genlock to superimpose graphics/titles on video source (Online editing)

- "about" 3 NLE solutions with Classic Amiga

VLabMotion- consumer quality

DigitalBroadcaster32 Elite- broadcast quality >2:1

PAR+Capture card- very limited NLE

and Draco that its an Amiga clone (it uses the same software of the VLabMotion)

more a lot af graphic/3D programs linkable through Arexx.

Don't know exactly, what are you searching for :-) pre assembled wipes? animation wipes to use with NLE apps in alpha channel?

Let we know :-)

oops . . . and Wellcome!
