This is fantastic, I should put my battery up on eBay and sell it as an Ultra rare component!  Oh wait, I threw that thing in the garbage after I ripped it off the motherboard.  Fortunately the person I had bought it from had replaced it not terribly long ago, but I didn't want to take any chances and it now has a coin battery like it should have done in the first place.  Still not sure how new the NVRAM batteries are in my Ataris that have them.

As far as the keys go... I've been seriously considering purchasing a 3D printer, figuring out how to do laser etching of keys, and then selling them in sets to replace keys.  I wonder how many people would be interested in that?

Would make a nice display item on top of a can of genuine secondhand Amiga PSU dust. But then it would rot a hole in the can ;)

I think it would be much cheaper to just have a kbd maker make some new key sets, i might be wrong but i dont think you could get the smooth finishes on a 3d printer, and you would be running it to death to make full sets, not to mention the electricity used :)

But it would be cool if you proved me wrong on this ;)

And Christmas through New Years is really a bad time to be trying to sell.

What kind of fool leaves the already leaking battery on the board, letting it eat more each day!  argh!
To top it off, he even posts how its leaking in the LISTING!  i mean :whack:Cmon!

Really bugs me to see this... heh

Someone should buy this if not just to get his address and stop by and hit him with the dead trout...  and remove that damned battery!

$2000 for an a4000??? That alone is crazy. It will never sell at that price.
There are several a4000s on eBay right now, the only one that is selling is the one I have listed with no battery damage and it's at a fair price.

Let's face it, the motherboard is toast and will likely need extensive repairs to get it to function, but he is otherwise being honest, "...very nice used cosmetic condition."  He just didn't say "Non-working, for parts or repair only," and that, "the seller suffers from delusions that he is an an Amiga expert and ignores the probability that he is an idiot."

I can't even read that massive wall of text.  Would it kill the guy to put some linefeeds in there?  Maybe some bullet points, or something?  My policy is simple: if the seller looks like a *bleeping* idiot, don't bid on the item.

I agree, it'll be kaput for certain. He states it powers up fine but all that means is a green power light.
