Bridgeboard video to A2410
« on: November 21, 2015, 04:07:01 PM »
I'd like to use an A2286 for some radio programming software that requires old hardware for writing to eproms... I'll need a multi-io taking up an AT slot leaving just an XT slot for a video card. (I don't want to wrestle with the finicky Motorola and GE RSS displaying in Workbench). I have an A2410 already but I can't find anything about routing the A2286 video though it if it is even possible.

Anyone ever tried this?

Mike

I have played with quite a few bridgeboards, but i know of nothing to promote the display to the amiga thru a graphics card. Maybe someone else knows.
If this is in a A2000 you could solder in the extra connectors to have more 16 bit isa slots though if that is a problem.

Well there are ways to make Workbench appear on the 2410, so !if! the Janus-SW is RTG-friendly it should be possible to have the stock display there in a window.

Or just hunt down an 8Bit VGA (or just solder in those missing AT-slots).
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Jumper your bridgeobard so that it opens in a Windows to Workbench. At least this works with A8088
ACube Sam 440ep Flex 800mhz, 1gb ram and 240gb hd and OS4.1FE
A1200 Micronic tower, OS3.9, Apollo 060 66mhz, xPert Merlin, Delfina Lite and Micronic Scandy, 500Gb hd, 66mb ram, DVD-burner and WLAN.
A1200 desktop, OS3.9, Blizzard 060 66mhz, 66mb ram, Ide Fix Express with 160Gb HD and WLAN
A500 OS2.1, GVP+HD8 with 4mb ram, 1mb chip ram and 4gb HD
Commodore CDTV KS3.1, 1mb chip, 4mb fast ram and IDE HD

I appreciate the replies. My stumbling block for the XT VGA card is that they seem to be made of solid gold. But I may not have a choice.

If you can solder the extra AT slot extensions, then you can get any ISA VGA card.  Some of the motherboards have the through holes unsoldered and it makes the job easy and fast.  I actually did this modification to a machine two days ago:

Well the A2410 is an AMIGA video board not PC !

it was designed to be used in the A3000UX with Amiga Unix System V release 4, the ONLY resolution that is availlable is 1280x1024 in 8 bits (256 colours)

I'm not aware of a way to use it with the bridgeboards software. althought there is a driver for it in cybergrafx 4 for the workbench.
