Someone is a Bill & Ted fan,

Meh... They're alright....

Quote from: danbeaver;781300
and I don't use four letter words in the forums when asked to explain cross site attacks.

I don't even know what this means.... but this is the second time I've read this sentence on an Amiga website (from you?). Ehhh... doesn't matter...

I'm just a a little bugged... How would you like to see, on a Miggy site that states, "...and they hate "your country"?

Sorry to the guy looking for an A1200! Sheeesh!

Anyways....   It's 2015! Let's get this party started... Let's get this party started! (Ya'll know the tune!)

If you posted under FE, then you will get more responses by adding, "Looking to spend in the $200 USD range."  This does not violate their notion of price fixing or price gouging or price pricing, etc.

Mind you, I pick $200 out of thin air.

I would imagine danbeaver's comments are intended to be tongue-in-cheek. I've used Amibay numerous times, my "nationality" has never been an issue. In fact, due to this hobby I've met some quite friendly folks all over the world. The rules are simple enough, IMO.

The few disappointments I've encountered had nothing to do with the site, and are the same kinds of things you might deal with on ebay or anywhere else: The hardware is getting really old now - caveat emptor.

@amiga76,

The 1200 can be a good machine. Amiga is an addiction, welcome back!

I'm guessing Amiga1 through Amiga76 and beyond were taken; I'd like to try: EatItRawFuzzNuts myself, but I'm already registered.

Dang, they sure don't go for cheap these days!  :(

IMHO the A1200 is great if you just want something for playing games, as there's a lot of AGA-only content out there.  Also the faster chipset is nice just for tinkering around with Workbench (since you can pretty much forget about getting a graphics card for one unless you plan on taking out a second home mortgage).  But if you just want something to feed your Amiga fix, there's plenty of A2000's out there starting at less than half that, as well as A500's, I even saw an A600 and a CDTV on ebay going for less than that, a few minutes ago.

Personally I love my A2000's.  Easy to expand and tinker on, I fire up my main one almost every day just to "get my fix".  Still, if you've got the cash and don't mind scouring the net a bit, an A1200 with replaced caps, a CF adapter, one of the ACA accelerators, and an Indivision AGA (with the Kipper2K HDMI adapter if you're into that sort of thing) will give you a nice, compact, fairly "modern" and "bulletproof" system to play around with.

Good luck!  :)

Well if you are considering an accelerated A1200 for $565 (this isn't Amibay), what about a refurbished A4000D for $600?  It is fully working, (except for the clock) with 68040, 16+2 MB RAM, Retr0brited plastics, newly enameled case, DD floppy, 3.1 ROMs, new keylock, and CD-RW drive.  Rebuilt with PSU 600W dual voltage, too.

Just offering...
