WTB: Amiga 1200/other in the US.
« on: January 07, 2015, 09:47:24 PM »
Hello!

I'd like to get back into Amiga gaming, and would love to purchase an amiga 1200. I grew up playing the 500, but i have been told the 1200 would be more ideal...anyway...let me know what you have! I am located in Los Angeles, CA.

Thanks !

Pop an ad on Amibay in the Wanted section as well (mention US sellers); some descent folks will look there if they have something to sell.  In the Wanted Section it is permissible to post a target range you are willing to pay and this will help a huge amount.

I no longer refurb A1200's or A3000's due to the associated problems with them, preferring A4000D/T's, but good luck on your search.

Be sure to also check english amiga board and the classifieds on here. Tread carefully in Amibay. When you're advised to read the rules, you are advised to actually and carefully read the rules.

Most Amibay users are in Europe.  While that's not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of when considering power supplies, shipping, and if you care about whether the machine is PAL or NTSC by default, etc.  And yes, read those forum rules, they can be a bit of sticklers for them over there!  ;)

If, as I suggested, you mention US sellers only, you will avoid those Euro-peeing types.

Amibay is all about rules, rules, rules (and they hate Americans).:hammer:

Someone is a Bill & Ted fan, and I don't use four letter words in the forums when asked to explain cross site attacks.

I just realized my picture of Captain Ahab looks surprisingly like Abraham Lincoln. ;)

Hopefully all these bumps to the thread help the OP find an A1200 quickly! :D  I don't see a single one listed on ebay currently anywhere in the US, although there is this wacky system down in Australia that shows up when I search:

Meh... They're alright....

I don't even know what this means.... but this is the second time I've read this sentence on an Amiga website (from you?). Ehhh... doesn't matter...

I'm just a a little bugged... How would you like to see, on a Miggy site that states, "...and they hate "your country"?

Sorry to the guy looking for an A1200! Sheeesh!

Anyways....   It's 2015! Let's get this party started... Let's get this party started! (Ya'll know the tune!)
