So what happens to the site?? a new domain name?
The contract contains a 12 month non-compete clause, so aside from paying off all the bills that have been a direct result of this site, I'll be taking a bit of a vacation.  If, after a year, there's still an Amiga community left, we'll examine the possibilities at that time.

I'm just very happy that the domain itself will go to good use.

I welcome our new Sapphic friends to the Amiga community
Just to be absolutely clear, Corazón de Amiga (very loosely translated -- since I don't speak Spanish -- "Heart of the Girlfriend") have nothing to do with the Amiga computer whatsoever.

It is an official support organization that provides advice, counseling, and resources to the Mexican Lesbian community.

Oh! Its april fools day!
Sorry for the timing, but it's no joke.  I find myself without a job, in debt, and a good offer was made and accepted.  I suppose everyone would take this more seriously if I waited until tomorrow, but the contract states that we announce it one full month ahead of time to allow time for an adjustment, which means I needed to announce it today.

@restore2003

Read above.  There is a non-compete clause.

Just a quick question: Will you be letting us know the reason(s) for the sale? I know it's none of our business, but it would be nice to know.
I already did.  Read above.

A great magician once said... "In life, never take pause to believe that what you see before you is real, or imaginary.  Just enjoy the show."

So if this was just an expertly orchestrated April fool, what's the deal with the Amiga.org Domain expiration date of 27th April???
A Natural expiration date, noting the original creation date of April 27, 1995 which simply played into our hands.

In all, I can't take credit for everything.  I owe most of the original inspiration to James Russell, our Editor-at-large.  Glad everyone liked it.

Our original plan was to drag it out until May 1st at which point we would have announced it (if no one had seen the hidden text by then) but the other moderators on the site (who were intentionally not let in on the joke) started kavetching about how "foolish it makes them look" and how it was "damaging the site's credibility", etcetera ad nauseum (literally).  Sheesh, no sense of humor I tell ya... :)

Just wait to see what we have in store for next year...

@Voxel.

Believe it or not, that wasn't my Spanish post.  I don't know who did that, but since it helped the cause, I didn't see the need to complain.
