yes yes the 2000 is slower....but the quality is not just the case it the mobu and the surface mounts just like dommy claims.

However, we both know that the 4000 is more fun.   but you know you can put  piccasso IV and phase5 060 in the 2000 making it a fantastic machine... don't you wish you had one like that?

I would alos like to note that it obvious that the doom master suffers from some kind of mental illness, do we realy need to feed his ego or worsen the condition y talkign about his ever auction?  Just ignore them.

It would still be slow ... The only way to make a snappy A2000 is to have a gfx board in a 32 bit space instead of zorro 2 space. GVPs G-Force cards have a special expansion for a special kind of spectrum card. It would be snappy and fast cause it will be on its 32 bit bus.

I bet my A3000 with warp engine/picasso2 would feel snappier than the A2000 picassoIV/060 combo.

He is kidding right
Neither of the two mentioned make any difference as to how they function and in no way is one better then the other.

My guess is that the one bider that had placed a bid is just him bidding for himself to make it look like he has interest. The only interest in this A4000 is negative from what I can see given all the questions he is getting and this thread as well as many many others that have been posted here.

The A4000 and 1200 were in many ways superior to past Amigas AGA for one thing. Yes I agree that not having SCSI was a small issue but SCSI add on controllers were and still are easy to get. The A4000T was by far the best Amiga but fairly limited in supply. I agree that the A3000(t) construction was very solid but who cares as unless your going to be banging it around or throwing it out a window what does that matter.
My 2 A4000d's are still running today one of them I have had since 1995.

Then I guess, according to the previous posts the A3000 is the best of both worlds.

It supports Zorro III, and 68060/PPC accelerators including the CS Mk III yet it uses "higher quality" through hole technology.

Lack of AGA funtionality can always be compensated by having a Gfx card like the CV64/3D.

Guess what Amiga I have?  :-D

Many people DO think the a3000 is the best.  I would say it's a GREAT box and maybe the best amiga made.... man I wish they would have made the 3000+ rather than the 4000.  My only beef with the 3000D is the case.  It great looking but it a mess to work on!  YOu have to takethe whole damn thing apart to spat things out!  seriously bad internal design!
I have a 3000, but I perfer my 4000T....

I have a Blizzard 2060 and have put my Picasso IV in it.  I put the PIV back into my CS-MKIII 4000D, and a Spectrum 28/24 in the 2000.  The performance just isn't there.

I think we've speculated in another thread before about what it would take to expand the 2000 in Zorro III or PCI fashion.  In the end doing so would require a realization of what seem to be several pipe-dreams, and would just end in what should be better Amiga hardware.

There are several accelerators with local 32-bit buses -- off the top of my head I can think of the GVP 040 Combo (2000) and the CS-MKIII (some kind of PCI,) then there's video cards with PCI buses (P-IV, maybe others,) but none of them truly capitalized upon.

The main exception in my mind would be the bus in the CS-MKIII, to which you can connect a video card or the G-Rex PCI bus (for which I would just about give a vital organ to own, or maybe just some blood plasma :-))

Any chance he might get what he ordered (or thought he did) before this decade is out?

I can only imagine the face of the poor newbie..."Why! But Why did I order from this guy?!?" :headwall:

And it was sold dispite this:
and the fact that I reported his listing to ebay as I beleived it violated EBay policy.

[Response]
Question about payment for item #150120353177 - Amiga 4000 Computer, Extremely
Nice Condition !I am not bypassing anything. eBay still gets their money. I do
email you an invoice using eBay's form, I just do not use their checkout form.

eBay sent this message to Donna Marsh (retrogeek001).

[Question]
Item: Amiga 4000 Computer, Extremely Nice Condition ! (150120353177)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
 by a potential buyer.

You state in your auction that:
Do not use eBay's check out. RetroGeek Auctions will email you an invoice. When mailing us your payment, make sure that you include a letter telling us what the payment is for and to neatly print your return address on your payment
envelope. Thank you very much for looking at this auction.

EBay has stated in previous E-Mails that this generaly indicates a SCAM, while I would be interested in purchasing an A4K from the amount of questions asked and the details provided I don't beleive I'd bid on this one, surely bypassing EBays payment methods means that EBay would miss out on some sort of auction fee and there fore would be against EBay policy, Hey I might be wrong but ive
only got experience in selling on the local version of Ebay.

Nah, you don't have to use ebay's checkout.  You can pay however you want if the seller is ok with it.  I just sent out two money orders yesterday.

There isn't much wrong technically with his auction, except for the fact that he's asking for CASH (foreign currency??? huh???) and that he's just a complete ass.

I guess they are mailorder babies then. Wonder if he has a mailorder bride as well :-)

Though I find it pretty harsh that he keeps calling one of his kids "piece of sh*t". Doomy sure must have had a bad youth...

OK folks,

I'm going to lock this thread.  Just add this topic to the collection of "Beware of Doomy" posts and move along.

Nothing more to be said.
