Plus, more than a few computers set up in your house and you become fairly unmarketable to most women.

LOL, isn't it true though! :-)

@pyrre

here is one

I got a a4000T for free for helping out a school that still uses amigas for video production (her i Kristiansand). Now they use a 4000D instead (i got a new psu for them (matx) that was mutch quieter, so they prefer that one).

Doomy:

"No, I am not pulling a "bait and switch". The auction clearly states Amiga 4000 computer. The auction does not state Amiga 4000 computer system or Amiga 4000 computer with keyboard and mouse. The auction also clearly states what is included. I have not done anything wrong. YOU need to learn how to understand what you read."

This guy is an a$$. lol.

For someone who knows so much about Haynie, you'd think he could at least spell the guys name right.

Well, you can't feel too bad for the person that bids on it.  If you look at Doomy's feed back, on the VERY first page he has at least 4 negatives and one them EVEN SAYS:

"Grouchy seller. Didn't work with my Amiga 4000, which he calls a sh-ty computer"

Guess that's why you should read feed back before you spend $500.

At least Doomy's auction's are acurate.  It will be just like he said.  You will get an A4000, 2 megs of chip ram, 16 megs of fast ram, and a CD-Rom drive.
You won't get, as they are not listed in the auction, the 040 card, PSU, hard drive, the battery he took off the mother board, kickstart roms which he has probably removed, keyboard, mouse, power cord, OS disks, manuals, etc.  That's how Doomy works.

Also, I see now that this is on the auction:

Q:    Hello, I used the 'contact member' to contact you, I read your answer to a bidders question in which you say the A1200&4000 are inferior to earlier model...

A:    Dave Hanie and myself stand by what we have both stated about the Amiga 1200 and 4000, they are both pieces of low quality, poorly designed crap that Commodore...more

 :roflmao:
A3000D (16mhz, 2MB Chip, 4MB Fast, SCSI (300+MB), SuperGen Genlock, Kick 3.1)
Back in my day, we didn\'t have water. We only had Oxygen and Hydrogen, and we\'d just have to shove them together.

His reputation and foul mouth are his two biggest enemies. He talks so gross to people who make him mad. And like a previous poster stated, it's always the other person's fault with Doomy. Either he is full of beans or everyone in the world is out to get him.

As A2000 got socketed chips, it's more easily reparable. But it's not expandable as A4000...

Who can trust a guy that put all his valuable floppy on the shelf close to a CRT with its vicious magnetic field ?

One of the questions he answered just recently "I personally have seen an A4000 go for $1000 on ebay"

I have been watching ebay for years and have never seen an stock A4000 go for that much let alone $500. I bought my second mint condition A4000D with a Video toaster flyer for $150 so thats just c**p.
I can see a well loaded 4000T going for that much but not a desktop!
With him nothing is guaranteed to be what you see.

I wonder if he will post and answer my questions?

Hi, you seem to know a lot about Amiga computers.  Is it true that Ali was a Lizard Man from Atlantis who deliberately sabotaged development of the Amiga 3000+ and substituted it with the inferior Amiga 4000?  I've heard rumours that this was part of the reptilian conspiracy to undermine Commodore from the inside and ensure the dominance of Microsoft - as Bill Gates is a well known reptilian shapeshifter.  Also, does the A4000 come with a working power supply and daughterboard?  Is it really true that all Rev B motherboards came with 68040 CPUs as you state in your answers, and if so, how come every A4000/030 I have owned had a Rev B motherboard - including the one I picked up brand new from C= Australia just before they went bust?  Another Lizard Man con job?

Since I am the last one to have left negative feedback to the guy we're talking about, I think I am allowed to say something here.

First, I noticed no a single person placed a single bid on the A3000 ZIP RAM chips he was selling prior to the A4000.

Also, it is easy to notice that Mr. Bidder 1 who was unfortunate enough to place a bid on his A4000 has been a member only for a very short amount of time.

I think Mr. Doommaster is having a very hard time selling anything at all these days.

Pity on the poor slob who placed a bid on his junk...

"...gas for my vehicle, eBay fees, my time to stand in the long lines at the Post Office to personally ship your package out, there will be a small handling / packaging fee added to the actual shipping cost. The handling / packaging fee varies according to the size and weight of the item, but is usually never more then $3.00 to $20.00.  "

Ohhhhkaaayyy so we've established that he can just add $20 on the end of the auction for "handling" in addition to the shipping. Including gas, and his hourly salary while standing in line.

Nice :)

Hi, well my 2 cents, just started selling items on Ebay, no Amiga stuff tho,....they are my real computers, after all... :)
BUT, I have had 2 listings cancelled, and another listing I was bidding on was cancelled, but not until I had sent payment for it....
SO, whay don't we all 'report this item'? The seller uses profanity, and is not accurately describing the item, correct?
Maybe use EBay's %*&%#$ policies to our own good :)

Really, how can this person can deal on EBay for this long....

grumble...mutter....

LOLz, if Doomy can answer my questions, I'll buy his stupid A4000! (just kidding) :

I have a few questions for you:

1. One day, a person went to horse racing area, Instead of counting the number of human and horses, he instead counted 74 heads and 196 legs. Yet he knew the number of humans and horses there. How did he do it, and how many humans and horses are there?

2. If 1/2x +1/2(1/2x + 1/2(1/2x +1/2(1/2x + ... = y,
then x = ?

3. What place in this world can have their temperatures Fahrenheit and Celsius equal?

4. You have two block of clay in cube form and the edges are 10 cm. How many spheres with a radius of 5 cm can you make with that amount of clay?

5. Every month, a girl gets allowance. Assume last year she had no money, and kept it up to now. Then she spends 1/2 of her money on clothes, then 1/3 of the remaining money on games, and then 1/4 of the remaining money on toys. After she bought all of that, she had $7777 left. Assuming she only gets money by allowance, how much money does she earn every month?

6. If ax*x + bx +c = 0,
then what is x?

Thx!
