A4000 on ebay - Doomy does it again!
« on: May 08, 2007, 11:29:12 AM »
Check out the Q&A on this item!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150120353177

Still, there is already somebody willing to pay 500 bucks for a nearly stripped A4000/040. I wonder what mine will sell for then.

And apparently he's planning to buy one of the new Amiga's. I sure hope for him that they're Mil Spec. then :roflmao:

And since you are reading this: Hi Doomy! Please make sure you pack this machine okay. You wouldn't want to have another negative feedback now do you?  :-D

"I do not need a low-quality, poorly designed Amiga 4000 or 1200 computer. I am having a hard time understanding why you guys love these pieces of {bleep}."

That will help it to sell

Photo is not of the actual machine I guess since it's only 1 floppy included in the auction... what to look out for: Is the other floppy drive cover installed? Does it include mouse/keyboard as on the picture? Are all the backplanes installed? Battery was removed.. great.. what about close up picture of the battery area so the buyer can make a fair judgemtn if the jobb is done propperly and no damage is precent?

Since we know how Doomy works and since there's no internal photos available we can assume: mouse/keyboard not included though precent on picture. Floppy cover probably not installed. Small battery damage precent but not so much as it impact the computers performance... YET (or it have started to intermittently impact performance and it's now time to sell this "gem"). It's likely that there are other things missing aswell... he didn't claim it came with a bussboard so he might try hang on to that one since the vanilla machine works fine without.

I'd love to hear how the story ends if there is infact a buyer for this overpriced item.

I don't understand why Ebay even lets this guy have an account since most if not all of his sales are scams. I mean come on you picture a system with 2 drives, mouse, keyboard and whatever else and leave a vague description of the item. It's not until someone asks what does come with it that he tells someone and to top if off has to put down the very item he is selling plus swear besides. I have one other thing if the computer is a piece of {bleep} why sell it for 499.00 just give it away to one of us guys who love these pieces of {bleep}.

I know Ebay doesn't allow the use of profanity either.

"eBay does not allow the use of profanity or patently vulgar language in a public area of the site. This includes the use of language that is racist, hateful, sexual or obscene in nature.

eBay will permit media titles and descriptions (such as a CD name and track list) that contain profanity on the main site and in Mature Audiences. This profanity is only permitted if the original production company title or description contains the profane terms. All other profanity is prohibited. This exception applies to media items and does not apply to any other items.

Sellers should carefully review the ‘Some Examples’ and ‘Additional Information’ sections below before listing and adhere to all the policies outlined.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

Listing cancellation

Limits on account privileges

Account suspension

Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings

Loss of PowerSeller status"

Reading the comments on the auction it says "As clearly stated in the auction, one disk drive is included. It is a Chinon 880K drive"... yea right... it says whats included is "a disk drive"... one could get the wrong idea and think it's a standard A4000 HD diskdrive and not some cheapo DD diskdrive he have tossed in instead.

As suspected Mouse and keyboard not included.

"I do not need a low-quality, poorly designed Amiga 4000 or 1200 computer. I am having a hard time understanding why you guys love these pieces of {bleep}.".. lol.. that should help sell this "gem" right away.

I wonder if anyone is interested AT ALL in this item at that price, especially with the comments he left on my questions.... I mean, an A4000 with 880k drive and no keyboard/mouse? Someone must hit me with a really big hammer before I will pay that price (even for an 040 version).

And why does he want to use that keyboard on his A2500? It doesn't fit anyway. The drives don't fit either. A2000 drives are bigger than those slim A4000 ones.

Anyway, I already messaged eBay about the profane language. Don't know if it'll help, but what the heck. He shouldn't be on ebay anyway.

Wow, that guy has an attitude! And why does he rant on about his personal life in an ebay auction? And why does he mislead people then get all pi$$y when they ask him questions? That boy ain't put together right...

Lets start a new poll, what is Doomy's favorite word? Crap or Sh*t? Maybe it has to do with the line of work he is in, Public relations maybe.

Got to laugh at that guys feedback for the last month or so! No one in their right mind should buy anything from someone with that kind of feedback. Unless you believe that it was the other guys fault EVERY TIME!

Oh I think you guys are missing the best bit!  :-D

Turn your sound up when you view this auction.

"Ford, get the axe..."

Maybe he can get done for breaching copyright  :rtfm: , the file name is SGAtlantis.mp3. I've never seen the show, maybe someone can confirm it's the music from it.
