But that is infact true. The a2000 operates just fine without a battery.. The only thing it affect is the battery backed up clock.
I believe the a3000 is the only amiga that stores some other settings using the battery.

Yeah, but if you went to the bother of removing the old one - what a 'tard.

The NVRam SCSI settings are always set to default setting, unless there's a working battery installed in order to keep any changes that you've made to SCSI settings after powering off your A3000.

I have to admit, it's a pretty nice 2000.

I wish my A1200 would stop randomly deciding it's the year 2000 instead of 1978... it crashes ProTracker!

I found this one more funny:

Q:   Hi there, How much would it cost to ship this item to Wisconsin, in zip 53534-9331?
Between $30 to $40. An Amiga 2000 computer is very heavy because of its high quality construction.

It says "SupraDrive" indicating it had a Supra HD controller installed.  Just a sticker...

Yeah the Amiga does not need a battery.  I install the lithium hack in mine though, might as well.

I like the statment he has and I quote:

"The Amiga 2000 is the highest quality and best built of all the Amiga models. More hardware and software was produced for the Amiga 2000 series then any other Amiga model, including the Amiga 500 and 1200. Because of the Video Toaster, because more professionals bought the Amiga 2000 series more then any other Amiga model, and because the Amiga 2000 was in such high demand in America that Commodore could not kill its production, the Amiga 2000 was and always has been Commodore's main Flagship Amiga model (not the Amiga 4000 like some of you seem to think"

Particularly the part about the Video Toaster The Toaster 4000 outsold the Toaster 2000 when it was released and the Amiga 4000 went with it.

I would have to dissagree that the 2000 was the best built and commodores "flagship" as I truly think that the A3000T was. I know so many people that had bought the A500 far more then the A2000.
Amiga 2000HD Indivision ECS
Amiga 4000D towerised OS 3.1 and 3.9 on CF cards
Indivision AGA, Mediator 4000
Video Toaster 4000 Flyer v4.3 Millenium.
202gig of video drive space & 5gig audio.

Hi,

Well, this has nothing to do with anything, but i was reading through RetroGeek's feedback and several people says they've called "her" and reminded "her" to ship the item. So RetroGeek is Doomy.. That would make Doomy i woman..?!? I thought the picture was of "him"!

Wierd to put that idiot picture on every auction if it's not actually the person selling the item.. I wouldn't deal with that grinning {bleep}..!! :-P

I have a male tenor voice, and have been called "mam" or "miss" on the phone before. So you can't be too sure. If Doomy is male, he probably enjoys the confusion. If Doomy is female, that make for an ever stranger picture for me. When things are slow around here, another Doomy thread is always a nice short diversion.
