Not directed at anyone in particular, but I love posts where people just start talking about "product such-and-such", with no introduction about what that product is. A recent thread that comes to mind was some AROS-Linux-hybrid-distro-thing. "Just updated!" that's great and all, but how 'bout you give us a sentence or two to tell us what it is, first, right?
In any case, AFAIK the Romy board increases the ROM address space in A4K from 512K to 1MB, for people who want to burn their own custom 3.9 Kickstart ROM's. Hope that helps! :D

I hate to say this, but Cosmos did state what this was in the first post. Damn neat project. If I only had an A4000......
-
It wasn't very clear hence why i asked.
Thanks Oldsmobile_Mike for the explanation.
-
Depending on the price I'd be interested in one, maybe two-again depending on price.
-
Count me in for one, perfect companion to the WarpEngine 040/060 adapter.
Actually depending on the price I may take a 2nd unit also for my Vanilla A4000.

No prob! Sorry, didn't mean to irk anyone, Cosmos makes some top-notch stuff, I swear by several of his patches that I run on my A2000. Am sure his Romy's are great for folks who need them! :)

I had only the idea for Romy (and I found his cool name) : SpeedGeek built her all...
I have some other good projects, hope they become reality one day !

I wouldn't mind one, though not sure if I want to crack open my Amiga again, since I think I finally have it working just right...
Does it come with instructions on how to get 3.9 kickstarter on there?

I have a question about this though... has anyone thought of burning the aros68k rom with it? At least I think there is some kind of rom that was being worked on for AROS 68k, would be interesting to have a truly native Aros for our our classics.
Though it'd be nicer if they would have just released OS4 for 68k....

For Aros, I don't know...
Theorically, yes : you have just to put "dc.w $1114/jmp $00F80002" at $00E00000 or the little library "romheader" in the Remus package
:)

The last 5 Romy available !
15 euros + 1.50 euros shipping WW

Better late than never. Or so they say.

Is there a particular orientation this goes over the Fat Gary chip? I see a sort of notch on the upper left corner (if you have the Amiga's front closest to you.
It slid over Gary easily enough, but it's on there rather tight and I want to make 100% sure before I turn my Amiga on that I'm not going to toast Gary. Don't want my Amiga saying;

P.S. I was right, was just paranoid about doing it wrong.

Soldering is required for the 4000T even if you don't use the IDE, you need to put P651 and P652 on sockets : http://leblogdecosmos.blogspot.fr/2013/02/a4000t-pio2.html
On the 4000D : Romy is working fine with PIO0 (original) and PIO2 !

Please PM me your account so I can order one. I have an A4000D. Do these also work on A1200s? If so, I'll take 2.

You can burn custom 1MB ROMs on A1200 as is with no mods.
-
That doesn't mean putting a 1MB soft ROM into something like a ROMy wouldn't be preferable. I don't own a ROM burner but I can softkick something on the command line.

ROMY won't work in a 1200 because they don't have a Fat Gary chip.

Yes, but the point I was making is you don't need a Romy to use the 1MB split ROMs in a 1200. See this guide.

I know. I was responding to the other person who still wanted a ROMY, even after you told them they didn't need it, lol. ;)

Do you still have any of these left? If so, I'd want 6. After you confirm stock, I'll send you a message.
