Naah, just good 'ol iron saw and some iron file! :) Well, ok I used airgrinder on some spots...And yes, it's only 4 wires to connect, plus if you want power led to operate, it must be connected to +5V, that's all!

Awesome mate, thanks for the extra pic! :)
So, basically it's 3 wires (plus ground) that end to the RJ if i'm not mistaken.
By the way, there's actually phone cables with thinner connectors if you don't want to "hack" the socket yourself. Anyway, excellent job!
I suppose that dremel was needed for shortening the A500 case, or a similar tool...
Cheers!

Well, I'm glad you liked this little "hack"... Here is link how-to picture. You'll have to remove "Q1"-marked transistor to make reset work on A1000.

Also, you also may notice that I modified standard RJ12( which is a little wider) phone plug to fit in A1000 RJ10 socket. I just removed some excess material off the edges so it'll fit.

Mate, this looks awesome! Can we (pretty please) have a how-to, or at least the cabling details for the A500-to phone-jack connection?
By the way, have you made this with adjustable height in mind?
Great job!!!
