Awesome news! Well done to all the developers. The day there is a web browser available for AROS I will start using it :-)

There are three (although I 'm not sure it's a good thing to have three different ones) bounties for web browers here (http://www.teamaros.org). Judging things as they are, I'd say the Open Source browser bounty will be the first to be completed since the dev is making initial effort already.

That's great news Dammy. While I think AROS is a great project, a web browser really is essential for any OS to be usable. If AROS can get at least one up and running then I think you will find a lot more users trying AROS out :-)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to AROS 1.0
To me a browser is still an application and not part of the OS.
That said, an OS is useless without applications.
for any OS to be useable today you need certain core applications:
-browser
-email client (though the browser can substitute for that)
-IM client
-word processor
-picture editor (LunaPaint)
and additionally for business apps
-ODBC api or a SqlServer direct client api
Ideally, I'd like to see Mono (open-source .NET Framework implementation) ported as well. There is an open-source DirectX implementation going on as well.

Ooh, now that would be good - I'm still waiting for the nightly builds to be fixed so I can try it!!!

Thats good news.
I've been watching AROS for quite along time. Soon as there's a browser and email app I'll be setting up a dedicated machine for it.

That is awesome news!!! Loving the work AROS is doing and the accomplishments the developers have achieved!
