amiga OS 3.9 and...

I have amigaOs workbench 3.1...
Can I upgrade it to amiga Os 3.9...etc?
How can I do that and where can I download OS 3.9 version???
One more thing...how can I place picture on Workbench?
I have Picasso96;newlicons;clasart;jpegdatatype n' bmp datatype instaled but it won't work??? any clue??? help wanted...THANKS!! :boohoo:

Depends on your system. Post your specs so we can tell you or check the minimum requirements for 3.9.

what amiga do you have? if the amiga has the 3.1 roms on sure you can install os3.9

workbench 3.9 and all the previus versions are not for free download, you have to buy them amiga os 3.9 cd

from the prefs directory of workbench run the tool WBPattern
for pictures on background. for these progs/tools that don't work, do you have the right cpu/os version installed and enough ram?

Sounds like you're using WinUAE not a real Amiga? If so please post the configuration of the Amiga you have set up in UAE.

WINUAE thats right...sorry for that!!
 CPU 68020 chipset AGA,kick rom 3.1 ram chip memory 2mb fast 8mb slow 1mb z3 fast 512mb rtg 32 mb....and hard drive 100mb instaled with workbench 3.1.....
AND sorry for buy thing I didn't mean like that I really want to buy n' try OS 3.9 if I can on WINUAE?!?!?

I love AMIGA can I say it's my first comp!!!

That configuration will allow you to install OS3.9 once you have the CD.

remove the slow ram from this configuration. download amikit and install it when you will have the 3.9 cd. amikit is a ready amiga setup with progs. you will install it and when you run it first time it will ask for os3.9 cd to complete the setup.

I thought that with the quotation marks you meant you didn't want to spend money on OS3.9.

Anyway you can install OS3.9 on WinUAE. I've done it before and it works. Only problem I got was with the cd-rom because of the max transfer settings.

As said before OS3.9 comes on cd and there's no demo version. You can look for OS3.9 screenshots and features to see if you want it or not.
