1) take keyboard apart
2) press Enter and see where the rubber elastomer comes up
3) take a piece of ordinary paper from your printer
4) wipe the elastomer with said piece of paper
5) also clean the pcb of the keyboard with a very slightly moist lint-free cloth and be sure to dry it carefully afterwards
6) reassemble so far that you can test whether your enter key started working
7a) if yes, put everything back together and congratulate yourself
7b) if not, repeat 4)

Please be careful that you don't cut any of the elastomers with the sharp edges of the paper while wiping. Two or three wipes should be enough usually don't overdo it, this wears the elastomer down as you can see by the black marks on the paper.

If that failed to work, you can move a less used elastomer from a key that doesn't get much use. Also most other Mitsumi keyboards are a good source of spare parts . Mitsumi has made PC keyboards too, the mechanism is the same in those.

Well the elastomer must have been worn out... but swapping it worked great!!  Now before I put it back together I'll look at some of my PC keyboards laying around!

Thanks again!

Does anyone know a source for those elastomers?  I spent about an hour down at a used electronics store looking through their keyboards and couldn't find anything...

Thanks!
