« on: April 18, 2015, 08:30:04 PM »
Does anyone know if this card will work on the A1000?

In theory will work in an a1000 - someone else can probably confirm.
BUT, will obstruct the floppy drive... seen some 68k socket re-location pcb's / boot selector / or do something else with the floppy...

You might get lucky, or you might be able to make it work. It sounds like trouble though.

No, it won't work, something to do with the way the A1000 Roms or lack of, I had an A1000 back then and the best we could put in it with out much problems was the 68010. At least that is all I can remember about it. Don't know if they ever solved the Rom problem, I had the Rom Board placed in mine and believe that was the problem.
I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

MorphOS is a MAC done a little better

Thank you for everybody that replied.
I been told that some accelerator cards that use the 68000 chip socket would work,  but as you mentioned the lack of kickstart roms is an issue.

I have looked at the lucas board on ebay but still trying to figure out what that big white connector on the board is.  the manual isn't that clear.

I may just leave A1000 as is, she in mint condition..  and keep using the A3000 & A4000.
It's a real shame Individual computers have not thought about an A1000 expansion.

do you know if there ACA-500 would work on the expansion bus on the A1000?
Only issue is mine an NTSC model.

(btw unable to upload pdf files to this site Moderators)

It's the connector for the optional memory board called Frances.

The VXL*30 has a ROM socket on it (on it's RAM board).  I have one.  You can switch between the ROM on the motherboard or the ROM on the VXL.  That might do "crazy* things on an A1000, don't have an A1000 to try it with, or it might be a sneaky way to bypass the A1000 not having a built-in ROM?  Hummmm...
