what's the range on those pcmcia cards?  can they pick up internet hotspots? for the 1200?  :-?

You'd have to get specific details on each card - the Amiga driver has nothing to do with it. As an example, though, my machine is on the second floor (one level above the street), and the hub is in the basement (below ground) - it works fine.

thanks matt... any recommendations?  They still retail those in like a best buy or something?

See the list in the driver docs. Compatible cards are hard to find new.

I got a Compaq WL110 through the post this morning, will be trying this later on.
A1200T, 10Mb RAM, 1.3Gb HD, Apollo 030 FPU/MMU, Catweasel MkII Limited Edition, Kickstart 3.1, Workbench 3.5
